A security camera works best as part of a well-thought-out system.Spro camera systemgives you a complete overview of how SPRO systems are constructed, which components are included and what choices are available for each type of situation. CentraalAlarm helps you choose and implement the right system.
How is a SPRO camera system constructed
A complete SPRO camera system consists of several parts that work together. The cameras themselves form the eyes of the system: they record images and transmit them digitally via the network. The NVR (Network Video Recorder) is the heart: it receives the images from all connected cameras, stores them on an internal hard drive and makes them available for live viewing and retrieval of recordings.
The connection between cameras and NVR is via a network cable (for wired PoE systems) or via WiFi (for wireless systems). A PoE switch or PoE NVR supplies both data and power to the camera via one network cable, which greatly simplifies installation. Finally, there is the user interface: a monitor directly on the NVR, the iVMS-4200 software on a computer, or the Hik-Connect app on a smartphone.
Difference between analog CCTV and IP camera systems
SPRO offers both analog and digital IP camera systems. Analog CCTV systems use coaxial cables to transport video signals to a DVR (Digital Video Recorder). They are less flexible than IP systems but can be a good choice when coaxial cable infrastructure is already in place from an older system. The image quality of modern HD-TVI and HD-CVI analog systems from SPRO is acceptable but does not reach the level of IP systems.
IP camera systems are the standard for new installations. They deliver higher resolutions, offer more network flexibility and are easy to integrate with other network devices and software. CentraalAlarm always recommends an IP-based SPRO system for new installations because of its better performance, scalability and future-proofing.

Expand and build future-proof
One of the major advantages of SPRO IP systems is their expandability. If you decide to add extra cameras after a year, you can simply connect them to the existing NVR, provided there are still free connection ports. When purchasing an NVR, always choose a model with more ports than you immediately need, so that there is room for expansion without replacing the central system. CentraalAlarm advises you on this when purchasing, so that you can build a future-proof SPRO system.
